My Favorite Razor for Bikini Area AND My Favorite Wax Place!
Okay ladies, let’s talk about hair removal. Warning, this will be some pretty serious TMI about my nether regions, so if you’re terrified to talk about normal bodily functions and normal day to day routines, this blog post isn’t for you.
Now, in all of my boudoir prep guides I tell people to do what makes them comfortable when it comes to hair removal. I have no bias, if you shave it all, shave it all. If you like your bush and armpit hair, keep the bush and armpit hair. But don’t keep the bush and then ask me to edit it out, that’s what we try to avoid.
Anyway, I recently discovered this razor that I’m mildly obsessed with. I am in no way affiliated with this company nor am I getting paid for writing about it, I’m just simply spreading some information from my brain to yours!
So I purchased the Gilette Venus Intimate Grooming Razor on kind of a whim probably about 9 months ago. It has not disappointed one bit. My favorite feature is this little trimming blade on the top of the actual blade that is perfect for a little shaping and way less clunky than trying to use the bigger part of the razor. Won’t lie, it kind of blew my mind.
For those that don’t enjoy shaving (or how often they have to shave), I am about to offer another option.
As a woman with Italian heritage (sorry but I’m pretty hairy), I am a BIG fan of getting a Brazilian wax. My girl Janet over at JC Christophers Salon in Kinnelon, NJ is AMAZING. For those that have never done it, the whole situation is a bit intimidating. It’s rather… intimate. Janet is such an unbelievable professional, not only is she able to do it all in record time, but she does it in a way that isn’t even remotely humiliating. I know we’ve all heard stories (or had experiences) of some of the awkward and humiliating positions you have to be in to get this done, but I swear to god she’s a magician. She manages to get it all without ever making you feel uncomfortable (or get on all fours…. eek). She’s thorough, kind and gentle (as gentle as ripping all of your hairs out of the most sensitive area on your body can be) and if you choose to keep a little and not get it ALL taken off, she can accommodate.. I can’t speak highly enough of her, I’ve been seeing her for years and she’s just fantastic. Just a tip, take some Tylenol (or other pain relieving med) about an hour before your appointment to significantly reduce the pain you might feel.
Okay, that’s my little post on some of my favorite methods of hair removal. For those that get laser, tell me ALL the things because that’s truly an area I have zero experience with! If you go see Janet or buy the razor, let me know what you think!!
